AGE

Renter must be at least 25 years of age with a valid government issued driver’s license. A CDL is not required in Texas to rent a RV. A clean Motor Vehicle Report will be required if towing/driving our units.

RENTAL INSURANCE

Rental insurance is required on all units. If towing/driving our units, your personal auto insurance will be required and must include coverage to the towed vehicle.

FIRST COME FIRST SERVE

We have lots of inquiries to rent our fleet. To be fair to everyone, we only will hold a motorhome or trailer for you once you have submitted a reservation form, the information has been confirmed and you have been approved. Without a completed and accepted reservation form, a reservation deposit, and a down payment, we cannot guarantee you will have a reservation with us. If two parties request the same motorhome or trailer for the same time period, the first party to submit a reservation form, pay the deposit, and pay a first day down payment will have their request honored.

CANCELLATIONS

We understand that unexpected events come up in life. It is likely that we have had to turn away customers wanting to rent the unit you reserved. We’re sorry but no refunds are given for any cancellations made within 10 days of the scheduled start date of your rental.

Cancellations made within seven days of the start date of your rental will also require payment in full of your remaining balance.

EARLY RETURNS

We appreciate the fact that inclement weather may cut your trip short. While we will make every effort to accommodate an early return, we cannot provide refunds for early returns or for loss of use/time due to inclement weather during your rental period.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

Payment of a security deposit and the remaining balance of your rental is due in full seven (5) days prior to the start date of your rental reservation. The security deposit may be used within 30 days of the unit’s return to initialize repair for damage done by renter, payment for fees discussed in the Additional Fee Section and/or satisfy past due balances. For example, emptying the black and grey water tanks, returning the fuel to initial level, detection of pets in the unit, and/or return unit clean inside and out may result in use of security deposit.

ABSOLUTELY NOT SMOKING

If smoke is detected, a $500 fee will be charged to your security deposit.

PET POLICY

While we can appreciate the desire to bring your pet along, many of our guests are allergic to pet dander. As a result, we have several RVs that are pet friendly and we have RVs that we do not allow pets. If a pet is detected in our pet free RVs, a $500 cleaning fee will be charged to your security deposit. Damage by pets or pet urine detection on cushions, beds, mattresses, carpet will result in replacement of item at Renter’s cost.

RETURNING YOUR RENTAL

Rentals must be returned by 3 pm or at a pre-agreed upon time. Failure to return the RV at the agreed upon time will result in an additional charges. Returns on a Saturday or a Sunday must be arranged prior to the rental agreement. We thoroughly clean all rental units after normal use when returned. We expect the renter to return the unit with clean pots, pans, dishes, utensils, cups, glasses, counters wiped down, spills cleaned up, and items supplied with the unit returned to their cabinet or storage area. Returning a rental unit with stains on the carpet or upholstery, dirty dishes, etc. will result in an additional cleaning fee. Items missing or broken will be replaced by renter and charged to the credit card on file.

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

To pull a trailer, your vehicle must have the proper towing capacity. In other words, your tow vehicle must be safely capable to tow the RV. There are a multitude of web sites that can guide you. There are a couple of things to know to determine if your vehicle is capable of towing the trailer safely. First, you need to know your vehicle’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (normally found on a sticker inside the driver’s side door frame). This number is the maximum weight your vehicle should tow. What is the towing capacity of my vehicle? You’ll need to look at the owner’s manual under specifications to obtain that information.

The combined weight of the RV/Trailer does not exceed the towing vehicles GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating), which is the total weight your vehicle can tow. A good rule of thumb is to stay under 80% of your max towing capacity.

The weight of the RV/Trailer is also identified as GVWR and can be found on our website under the vehicle specifications. While you’re cruising the vehicle owner’s manual, take note of the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). The GVW is the actual weight of your car or truck. Next look for the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating or GVWR. The GVWR is the sum of the vehicles weight and the maximum load it can safely carry. As for the trailer, look for the “Gross Trailer Weight” (GTW). The GTW is what the trailer will weigh under fully-loaded conditions, including your gear, food and filled fresh and grey water tanks. Next, is the Tongue Weight (TW). It is the downward pressure that the tongue of a fully loaded trailer puts on the hitch ball on your vehicle. In a properly loaded trailer, the TW should be about 10 percent of the loaded weight of the trailer. The Tongue Weight adds to the overall Gross Vehicle Weight of your vehicle. Finally, when you add the weight of your vehicle, GVW — including the tongue weight — together with the GTW of the trailer or GVWR of the RV you’re considering, make sure the result does not exceed your vehicle’s Gross Combination Weight Rating. This is the maximum combined weight that your car or truck can handle for safe operation.

The total Gross Combination Weight must not exceed towing capacity.

You MUST have a 2″ hitch receiver equipped in your vehicle. We will provide a weight distribution system and sway control hitch with your unit.

You MUST have a trailer brake controller and have a 7-way trailer connector installed on your vehicle to rent and tow any of our trailers. No exceptions.

ORIENTATION

Please allow at least one hour when picking up the RV for orientation of the operation of the RV. You’ll be given an orientation of the safe operation of the RV, operation of the different systems of the RV, and an overview of the Terms and Conditions.

RENTAL AGREEMENT

A Rental Agreement will be sent to the Renter once the prospective Renter has paid the deposit for completion. Verification of the Driver’s record and the proposed tow vehicle will be made once the Rental Agreement is completed and returned. A Reservation is not complete and dates are not confirmed until the Rental Agreement is completed, returned to GARVR, the driver, tow vehicle, and destination is verified. GARVR reserves the right to refuse service or reject a reservation for inaccurate or misleading information on the Rental Agreement, under age Renters, or a tow vehicle incapable of safely towing the RV.
